National Safe
Digging Month

DID YOU KNOW?

Digging without calling 811 is against the LAW. Even small projects like putting in a fence or planting a tree still require a connection to 811. Submitting a locate request to have underground utilities marked is easy and free.

Every Dig. Every Time.

No digging project is too small to be DANGEROUS. Connect to 811 before any digging project.

Every Dig. Every Time.
It’s the Law.

811

Dial 811 or make a request online two business days before any digging project.

Wait two business days for the utility companies to mark the work area.

Confirm that all affected utility companies have responded. Responses can be verified by comparing markings with utilities listed on the 811 ticket. Learn what each colored marking means. Positive Response for excavators.

Respect and replace the markings provided by the utility companies. These markings will guide you throughout the project.

It is the responsibility of the person digging to avoid damaging marked lines.
