As a member of the DPC, you have unique opportunities to give back to the damage prevention industry and to help create a zero damage state. You can also grow your professional network by volunteering.

Volunteers are needed at every level of the Damage Prevention Council of Texas and no experience is necessary.

Homeowner Outreach

Our mission is to provide 811 awareness and education to homeowners, through events, literature, and social media promoting safe digging practices reducing unnecessary damages and keeping communities safe.

Committee members share in the responsibility of:

  • Posting 811 messages on NextDoor Community Message Boards
  • Attending local festivals to share information on 811
  • Volunteer at events such as Backhoe Rodeos
  • Attend Keep Texas Beautiful events across the state

Rural Outreach

The Rural Outreach Committee targets farmers, ranchers, large tract landowners, county road crews, and rural fire departments. Current outreach activities include providing safe digging messages to these stakeholders through coordination with Texas A&M Agri-Life Agents, pipeline operators, including Pipeline Ag Safety Alliance (PASA) members, and electric coops.
